            LeTourneau University is a private, nondenominational, Christian institution of higher education located in Longview, Texas. Established in 1946 by founder R. G. LeTourneau – a man of many hats including engineer, entrepreneur, inventor, businessman, missionary, and Christian leader, – the university’s original purpose was to serve GI’s who were returning to civilian life after World War II. Today, LeTourneau University is best known for the excellent professional and technical training it provides and the expertise its faculty and professors offer, paired with personal, hands-on learning experiences the University provides throughout its comprehensive, academic programs. Committed to a Christian vision for life and learning, LeTourneau University provides a distinctly Christ-centered approach when it comes to teaching.

            Academic Programs

            LeTourneau University’s mission is to be a “comprehensive institution of Christian higher education where educators engage learners to nurture Christian virtue, to develop competency and ingenuity in their professional fields, to integrate faith and work, and to serve the local and global community.” The University’s vision statement adds, “Claiming every workplace in every nation as our mission field, LeTourneau University graduates are professionals of ingenuity and Christ-like character who see life’s work as a holy calling with eternal impact.”

            Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools since 1970, LeTourneau University offers more than 90 graduate and undergraduate academic programs including four-year ABET accredited engineering and engineering technology degrees. The University is made up of several colleges and schools, including the College of Aviation & Aeronautical Science, College of Education, Arts & Sciences, College of Engineering, Business & Technology, College of Health Sciences, and the School of Theology & Vocation. LeTourneau University offers students small classes with serious hands-on experiences, designed to equip students to be “prepared to succeed in their field and make a real-world difference in every workplace and every nation.”

            Student Life

            LeTourneau University has a total enrollment figure of nearly 3,000 students, the majority of which are undergraduates. Included in this figure are more than 1,500 residential students as well as over 12,000 global students who are enrolled in one of LeTourneau University’s online programs or through one of its extension centers. Among the University’s total enrollment figure nearly every state in the Union as well as over 35 foreign countries is represented. Located on a 162 acre campus, LeTourneau University boasts several academic buildings which feature the latest in technology and equipment with wireless internet access available in all academic areas. Students are housed in more than a dozen different on-campus living opportunities and the University also features the S.E. Belcher, Jr. Chapel and Performance Center, an amazing venue in which LeTourneau University’s Chapel 广西快3走势图 are held as are numerous concerts and events.

            More than 50 student organizations are recognized by LeTourneau University and more than 70% of students participate in at least one of several intramural sports which range from flag football to basketball to coed ultimate Frisbee and air hockey.
